Our Favorite Soup Recipe

It’s very cold here in BethelHome Town.  It’s bone chilling when we go outside.    I had baked BBQ pork chops planned for dinner, but Bethel Daddy and asked if I would make Hamburger Soup tonight instead.    Since I love this soup and taking into account the weather I thought it would be a winning combination.


Grandma B’s Crockpot Hamburger Soup

1 lb. lean ground beef

¼ tsp. each: pepper, oregano, basil, seasoned salt

1 envelope onion soup mix

3 cups boiling water

1 8-oz. can tomato sauce

1 tbsp. soy sauce

1 cup each sliced carrot and celery

1 cup macaroni, cooked & drained

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese


Crumble beef into slow-cooking pot. Add pepper, oregano, basil, seasoned salt and dry soup mix. Stir in water, tomato sauce and soy sauce; then add celery and carrots. Cover and cook on low for 6 – 8 ours. Turn control to high. Add cooked macaroni and Parmesan cheese. Cover and cook on high for 10-15 minutes. Makes 5-6 servings.
